The Eye of the Acoustic Storm

Carole King

Each week, a different artist is spotlighted in "The Eye of The Acoustic Storm." Hourly segments of "The Eye" feature the artist's music along with bio information and sound bites.

Carole King started out as a successful songwriter, teaming up with then-husband Gerry Goffin in the Brill Building in New York, while composing hits for the Animals, the Drifters, the Shirelles and many more. Her first full-fledged album, "Tapestry," went on to sell over 11 million copies and helped launch the singer-songwriter movement of the 1970's.
